The cable cars at the world expo of Lisbon are a big magnet for tourists to come to this area. On January 13th these cables cars were only not open to the public. Tens of police cars and firefighters gathered at the entrance of the cable cars. “We are busy with a big operation to guarantee the safety of the visitors,” Joao says. Joao (51) a firefighter at the location tells more about the situation. “We are working on an annual evacuation test with the police and firefighters to evacuate 25 people from the cable cars. The operation is almost done now and it all went to plan,” Joao says. The cable cars will open up again tomorrow after the successful test that guarantees the safety of the visitors.
